ZyXEL Prestige 792H

The Prestige 792 series provides symmetric LAN-to-LAN and Internet access transmissions at selectable speeds of up to 2.3Mbps, and can be configured to either server or client mode for providing point-to-point connectivity between two sites.

In case of interruption in DSL service, the Dial Backup feature enables non-stop Internet access by automatically switching traffic to an external ISDN line or other RJ45 connection.

Basic Zyxel 792 Configuration (Single Static IP)

Access the Router via the starting address of 192.168.1.1 (username is admin, password is 1234)
Click on Wizard Setup.
Now select the following in the menus.

Zyxel 792 Multiple Static IP Setup

No-NAT

To Configure the Zyxel router for use with No NAT Static IPs, you must first setup the router as described above. Once this has been done, you should reaccess the routers web based configuration, then goto the Advanced Setup menu

A pop up box will now appear saying "if the TCP/IP settings have changed, please close the window". Do this.

The Router Configuration screen will now disappear. To reaccess the router, and also to get internet access on the PC you are using, you will have to make changes to that PC's local TCP/IP Address settings, changing them from "Obtain an IP address automatically" to "Specify the following address". You should then proceed to update your settings with the relevant IP address information.

If at first you do not have access to the internet, then please switch the router off for 30 seconds before switching it back on, and then try and get a connection.

If this fails, check that your settings match the above guide, and if they are all correct, then please get in touch with the SDSL Technical Helpdesk.

In order to allow applications other than Web, Email and FTP through the 792 you will need to configure the firewall or disable it completely. A guide on how to do this is coming soon, however in the mean time please contact the Technical Helpdesk for support on this.

Full Feature NAT

To configure the Zyxel router for use with Full Feature NAT, you must first setup the router as directed under basic configuration

Once this has been done, you should reaccess the router Web based configuration, then goto the Advanced Setup

You can repeat the above process for all your other static IP address you have been assigned, just create a new rule and change the Local Start IP address and the Global Start IP address.

In order to allow applications other than Web, Email and FTP through the 792 you will need to configure the firewall or disable it completely. A guide on how to do this is coming soon, however in the mean time please contact the Technical Helpdesk for support on this.
